Scope of Service Experience
Michael Blum has resided in the Rio Grande Valley since 1972 and
has for more than two decades been at the leading edge of
critical thinking . . . envisioning the future and bringing to
fruition major ventures throughout the Rio Grande Valley. As a
former City Planner, Assistance City Manager, elected official
and strategic planner, Mike has been active in promoting
development of the South Texas Border Region. He has provided a
wide assortment of planning, real estate and development
consulting services to business, industry and government.
Background & Experience
2004-Present: Partner and Managing Broker Synergis Realty Group
and Co-Founding Partner of NAI Rio Grande Valley, having
acquired the assets of NAI Rioco Realty in February 2005.
1997-2004 Broker with NAI Rioco Realty, the largest
commercial/industrial real estate firm in the Rio Grande Valley.
1988-1998 Michael J. Blum Company was created in 1988 to promote
development of the South Texas Border Region and to provide a
wide assortment of planning, real estate and development
consulting services to business, industry and government.
1989-1991 President of First City Development Services Group, a
division of First City Bancorporation of America created to
promote development of the South Texas Border Region.
1979-1988 Director of Planning/Partner, MBA Architecture Group,
a Rio Grande Valley based in-house planning and design firm for
Valcon Construction Company.
1973-1979 Director of Planning and Assistant City Manager-City
of McAllen.

Significant Transactions
Participated in $8.8 million of real estate transactions in 2000, including the sale of 140Ksf of manufacturing facility and leasing of more than 300Ksf of warehouse and distribution space.
In 2001 brokered $10million transaction in McAllen involving the sale of a 100Ksf Bank office building and a $2.8 million transaction involving the sale of a Retail/warehouse for conversion into temperature controlled warehousing.
In 2002 completed more than 400,000sf of leasing of industrial properties including Black & Decker and Panasonic
In 2003 transaction values exceeded $5.5 million including the sale of a 133,000sf former Haggar Manufacturing Plant to the University of Texas Pan American.
In 2003/2004 was instrumental in the development of a residential project generating over 3 million in lot sales in less than 12 months and a 1.6 million commercial site sale during the same period. Brokered the sale of a former Kmart Building in Edinburg.
In 2005/2006, Brokered lease of 50,000sf to Exel Global Logistics, 10,000sf to Keystone, brokered $15.3 million land sale; Brokered sale of 248,000sf of industrial buildings to single buyer. Leased office space to HRH Insurance, Cox Smith Matthew, and United Rentals.
2007- Co-Brokered sale of 120 acre site ($17.3 million to First Hartford Realty Corp for major Retail Center in Edinburg Texas,. 21 acre Site ($3 million) in Hidalgo, Tx and 148,000sf Manufacturing Facility in McAllen, Texas $4.5 million.
Focus is on land development and industrial sales and leasing with emphasis on NAI NAFTA projects. Nationally recognized clients include Invensys, Matsushita, Subway, Discount Tire, Symbol Tech, Sharp Electronics, Panasonic, and Dyncorp. Primary market includes McAllen MSA, the 4th fastest growing MSA in the U.S., Cameron and Starr County and Northern Mexico.
